When it’s time to get together for good food and fun, Brandywine Picnic Park has it all. Located along the scenic Brandywine Creek in historic Chester County, the park plays host to some of the most beautiful scenery in the tri-state area. Tube or paddle down the Brandywine, relax in the shade, or bask in the sun. The Park is open from May to September. It is a great place for corporate picnics, family reunions, school activities, team-building events, theme parties, birthday parties, class reunions, meetings, weddings, and church gatherings.
Notice: BPP is not open to the public every day. Please call ahead to verify available public admission dates. 610-793-3198 or check their website: www.picnic.com

Doc Magrogan’s Oyster House
117 East Gay Street
West Chester, PA
www.docmagrogans.com
(610) 429-4046
Rating: 7
Cost: $10 – $40 per person
Review: This place is a vintage 1920′s oyster house and has quite a nice atmosphere. The prices are between $10 for sandwiches to $40 Surf & Turf. Most of the sea food entrées are $25 or less. They have a good selection of seafood on their menu and a very enthusiastic waiter to help you out if you have questions. We tried the Thai Chili Glazed Tuna (rare) and Doc’s Grilled Combo (shrimp, scallops & salmon). Both dishes were excellent. They are known for their oysters but I haven’t tried them yet. Overall this is a great place to dine.

Z.Wei Asian Cuisine & Sushi Bar
163 West Lincoln Highway (Whiteland Towne Center)
Exton, PA 19341
Rating: 7
Cost: $10 – $15 per person
Review: This is an above average Chinese restaurant with added Japanese and Thai cuisine that I keep coming back to. Food is generally very good. I would recommend “Beef red curry” and “Shrimp Pad Thai“. It seems to be a great sushi place from all the other reviews. I will update this review after I test their sushi myself. Sushi is a la carte only and the prices range from $8 to $14 per roll. It is a BYOB place. You should definitely try this place.

Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant
3 West Gay Street
West Chester, PA 19380-3010
(610) 738-9600
Rating: 7
Cost: $10 – $20 per person
Review: The food is slightly above average. The place can get crowded. It is a nice place to go if you want to try out different types of beer. I would recommend trying their beer sampler which is small amount of every beer they are currently serving. This is a good way to find out which type of beer you like so you don’t end up with a huge glass which you don’t enjoy.

Hibachi of Downingtown
985 East Lancaster Avenue
Downingtown, PA 19335
(610) 518-2910
Rating: 7
Cost: $10 – $25 per person
Review: The place is quite large and it has nice atmosphere. I haven’t been there for anything other than sushi so I can not comment on their hibachi. Sushi is about average. They have a sushi bar where you can order all you can eat or a la carte. Sushi prices range from $8 from a single roll to $25 for all you can eat. They have a full bar and serve alcohol as well if you are in the mood for a drink. This place is not a BYOB restaurant. It is a good alternative for all you can eat sushi but if you can drive a little longer I would recommend trying Hibachi Japanase Steak House.

Review: It is certainly one of the best byob restaurants in Newtown Square where you can order delicious Indian or Thai dishes. I recommend Shrimp Pad-Thai or Beef Red Curry. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing.
